A stain harder to remove than a tattoo

01.

The moon rains from the sky
Settled into a puddle
Iridescent bubbles flutter up to the surface
Stillness overflows

What is left?
A scene without a light
To slumber without knowing if dreams exist
Somber is the night

Then the puddle reflected back
Refracting my image
Bubbles to shards
Iridescent to dull

What was left?
Remnants of disturbance
To slumber with doubt
Tearing through darkness
Endless plight

02.

Like eating banana bread before bed
You tell a story of wishes achieved
I’m falling asleep
In your arms made of cherries and cream
Can’t pry my eyes open
With your stories
Can’t make me speak coherent words
I’m falling asleep
To the sound of your promises
I hope to live them while I’m in this body

This will be actualized, I know
Everything good will be at our grasp
I’m falling asleep
Where twilight blurs between day and night
I can only remember the bread being yummy
Your presence is still near
Feed it to me

03.

The clock made an L shape
Then it made a straight line
Then It made a backwards L
Then is made a shorter line
This cycle continued as if in a circle
The gears couldn’t bear it any longer
And finally, they gave up
The clock was then stuck
And since the clock didn’t move
Neither did time
And since time didn’t move
My body didn’t age and my hair didn’t grow
Struck by a state of static
I was in permanence
Eternally in forever

You’d think forever lasted endlessly
But there is a bottom to every pit
Eternity is a hell of it’s own
But God’s in his heaven so all’s right with the world
They say

The gears finally kicked in
And the clock’s arms started directing time
It was now an acute angle open face towards the 11
And you hadn’t come home
But the clock still spun until the next sun cycle
It spun so fast it did not give me time
